Just months after Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell and attorneys general from other states announced a new $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family this January, on March 18, the company filed for Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The deal will see the Sackler family pay state, local, and tribal governments around $6.5 billion over 15 years.
