Jackson is now speaking with his own voice. "I want to have an impact on people's lives. I don't want to be just another cloud in the wind. I want to help people, even if it's just a little bit to make people's lives a teeny tiniest bit better," he said. He's fully aware his life is unusual for most children, and in Moldova, it metaphorically hits him in the face. "You definitely want to help out. I had so much growing up I'm so thankful for that," he said.

Israel's deputy ambassador to the US admits his country may pay "a dear price" for defending itself against Hamas but says it will not come close to that it is already paying with the loss of lives. Eliav Benjamin told 9News the Israeli people are "completely resolute in hitting back" and ensuring atrocities against it never happen again. "We will do anything and everything that we do that we need to do defeat Hamas," Benjamin said.

Exclusive: Taiwan's Foreign Minister has issued a stern message to China's President Xi Jinping to back off with military threats, and avoid a "disastrous result". Joseph Wu, an outspoken member of the Taiwanese government, says his island home is "not safe for us" amid frequent incursions by China's People's Liberation Army aircraft, and a desire from China's President for "reunification".
