    Freedom Mobile improved its 30-day Roam Beyond passes, adding extra data and talk and text options. The provider currently offers two 30-day Roam Beyond passes. The first costs $30 and includes 5GB of data and unlimited talk and text, while the second is $50 for 10GB and unlimited talk and text. The included calling only works for calls to Canada or local numbers in the current Roam Beyond destination that users are in. Texts, on the other hand, are global.

    Vancouver-based national telecom Telus changed its plans, raising prices while also adding a $5/mo credit across the board. Telus now offers two sets of three identical plans, one set for bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) customers, and the other for customers who finance phones. The plans are the same except that the financing versions cost an extra $10/mo. At the same time, Telus added a $5/mo credit for two years to all of its plans.

    In recent years, Intel has gotten a bit of a bad rep in the PC space. The company lagged behind competitors and faced leadership issues, leading some to sour feelings toward the company. But while competing chips from AMD and Qualcomm impress, Intel continues to proclaim leadership in the space. From my own testing experience with Windows laptops, I see both sides. Intel absolutely remains a powerhouse, but its chips are no longer the default best option.
