By Jonathan Lidskin Every year in college basketball, we get teams and programs that kick it into another gear. With that, there is a coach that did a ton of work to get his team to a higher level. In college basketball, one of the great things is that we get to discover new stars both with players and coaches on a yearly basis. This past season alone we had multiple coaches under the age of 40 reach the Final Four and one of them won a National Title.

By Jonathan Lidskin After 12 seasons at his alma mater, Scott Cross was fired by UT Arlington. Cross won a lot of games at Arlington including a top 75 KenPom finish and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. After being fired, Cross spent a season as an assistant at TCU but then landed on his feet at Troy. He has now taken the Trojans to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. Troy took down Arkansas State in the Sun Belt title game, mounting a furious second-half comeback.

By Jonathan Lidskin After an NCAA Tournament loss to Washington State, Drake was gutted. They lost their coach and pretty much all of their rotation players from a team that was a 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament. It was thought to be an impossible task to stay at the level that Darian DeVries had them at, but it turns out, that the answer to staying at that level was a D2 coach and a handful of his players.
