In this case, The Works Cafe opening on Elm Street marks a return to the Queen City, having previously operated as the then-Bagel Works on South Willow and Second streets in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. This is now the Keene-based brand’s 12th location and seventh in New Hampshire.

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide involving a 26-year-old mother and her three-year-old son, which occurred in Pembroke early Friday morning. Police arrived to 336 Pembroke Hill Road after receiving a 911 call around 1 a.m., according to a news release. "Upon entering the home, they made contact with the resident who called 911. Upstairs in a bedroom they discovered the two other residents suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," the release said.

A federal jury found a former Manchester High School West teacher guilty of attempted sex trafficking of a minor Thursday afternoon after hearing testimony about a November undercover sting operation. Prosecutors, however, were not allowed to reveal Stacey Lancaster’s place of employment during the trial. The defense argued it would be unfairly prejudicial.

A federal jury found a former Manchester High School West teacher guilty of attempted sex trafficking of a minor Thursday afternoon after a three-day trial. Lancaster, 46, was arrested during a Homeland Security sting in Manchester in November and charged with one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor. He will be sentenced at a later date. Lancaster’s attorney, Charles Keefe, left the courthouse in Concord without comment.
