    Champions Celtic failed to get the better of rivals Rangers in the final derby of the season, but they ensured they didn't suffer a third straight defeat in the fixture. Crucial to that was Cameron Carter-Vickers. The United States international was Celtic's best performer in defence and was always there when the big interventions were required.

    Ten-man Motherwell secured their Scottish Premiership status for next season with a fine win over Dundee at Dens Park and as such, two Steelmen have made my team of the week. At the back, Dan Casey was committed as always, strong in the tackle and stout in defence. He was a threat to the opposition goal as well. But Tawanda Maswanhise was an even greater threat. He was direct, fast and a real weapon for Michael Wimmer's side.

    Rangers were denied a third straight victory over Celtic in Sunday's Old Firm draw, but it was nearly a defeat for Barry Ferguson's side as a late save was required to deny the relentless Daizen Maeda. For that reason, Rangers shotstopper Liam Kelly is in my team of the week. Denying Maeda at the death was one of a few telling saves he made. There's also a spot for Nico Raskin, who has an almost Steven Naismith-esque ability to be a real threat in the air despite not being the tallest.

    While expanding the Premiership now seems to be off the SPFL agenda, Dundee youth team manager Scott Robertson believes a larger top division would be beneficial to developing young Scottish players. "I love the debate that was on regarding the structure and the expansion of the league to almost take away the worry of playing a young player where it might cost mistakes," he said. "The expansion of the league I think would help with that.
