Last year I did “way too early” series of divisional rankings. While the intention is never to be 100% correct. Rankings by their nature should be fluid and subject to change. I wasn’t 100% pleased with the results in retrospect. I intend for them to be a snapshot of what I seeing from my time in the gym. A subtle roadmap for what to look for in the upcoming season. With a lot of transfer rumors flying in the upper divisions. I don’t feel I can accurately do that for Divisions I and II.

After giving a preliminary list of four teams to watch entering the June team camp season. I realized something strange had happened. Call it writer’s block or an odd case of Deja Vu. After going through the archives, I discovered that two out of the four teams I listed were in this very same article from last year. While everything I wrote about said teams is true. I thought it would be more appropriate to diversify things a little and go a little deeper down my interest bench.

June is now upon us. After two straight months on of freeways, wristbands, and way too many trips to Raising Cane’s (didn’t think I could get to that point but I did) June allows me to stay a little closer to home for the team camp season. After a nice opening Saturday spent at Hudsonville and a swing through the alma mater at Grand Valley. My hope is to see as many teams as possible this month. While trying to decipher what is true, untrue, and ultimately allowable in the MHSAA “transfer portal”.
