One could spend an entire day listing all of the flaws present in the HBO series House of the Dragon. But many of the issues can be summed up with one critique: the show lacks much of the nuance and moral complexity present in not just its source material (George R.R. Martin’s fictional history book Fire & Blood), but in all of Martin’s work in general. House of the Dragon wants its audience to cheer for obvious “good guys,” and in so doing, betrays its superior source.
