UK Call of Duty esports organisation Katana Gaming has announced that it has ceased its operations. The organisation fielded a roster in Call of Duty Challengers and also hosted a range of amateur esports events within the UK at the time of the announcement. In an X post published on April 15th, 2025, the orgainsation’s CEO cited ‘a combination of personal and business-related reasons’ behind the closure of the organisation founded in 2020.

North American esports organisation ENVY is eyeing up a return to Counter-Strike esports. The development comes after the organisation’s owner, Mike ‘Hastr0’ Rufail, revealed ENVY has started looking at opportunities to field a roster in Valve’s first-person shooter title. In a social media post on April 15th, Rufail confirmed ENVY has started to ‘explore all opportunities and will jump on the right one’ when it becomes available. Team Envy is no stranger to the world of Counter-Strike.

The deal between the Belgium shot-stopper and the facility marks the first UK-based venture for Courtois. However, the player has previously invested in the esports industry.

North American game publisher Motorsport Games has announced it has secured $2.5m (~£1.8m) as part of a recent strategic investment. The investment was led by Delaware-based technology company Pimax, which specialises in virtual reality (VR) headsets. According to a release, the funding will be used to improve Motorsport Games‘ ‘cash position, fund working capital and general corporate expenses.
