Haverhill Rovers have put in a seven-day approach to speak to Haverhill Borough winger Brandon McKay. SuffolkNews understands Rovers submitted the approach on Saturday morning after they defeated their local rivals 2-1 in the Haverhill derby on Friday night. McKay is currently enjoying a breakout season in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North, having scored 10 goals in 14 appearances for 16th-placed Borough. He clearly impressed the Rovers camp in the battle between The New Croft sides.

Thetford Town have announced right-sided player Ryan Haylett – known as ‘Halo’ – has been given a management and scouting role after tearing his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and meniscus. The former Sheringham man’s knee injury was confirmed following a scan, and the player, who is believed to be in his early 20s, will now have to wait for surgery. The injury occurred during the 1-0 defeat at Woodbridge Town on Saturday, August 24 when Haylett was carried off just before half-time.

Right-back James Wilson turned down interest from ‘several clubs’ to join Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit Great Yarmouth Town from Diss Town. Wilson joined the Brewers Green Lane outfit in September 2023 and made 32 appearances for the Tangerines, scoring six goals as an attack-minded defender in Garth Good’s side, and helped them to an eighth-placed finish in the First Division North last term.

Seven of Ipswich Town’s festive fixtures have been moved for television selection and they will not have a match on Boxing Day this term. Kieran McKenna’s men were meant to travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on December 26 but the game will now take place on Friday, December 27 (8.15pm) and will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
