Haverhill-based darts sensation Ruby Grey has achieved a childhood dream of representing her country – after topping the England Youth Grand Prix standings last month. The players who finish in the top two positions at the conclusion of the eight-event league claimed the under-18 slots in next year’s England squad. The 16-year-old Haverhill Community Sixth Form pupil’s campaign saw her win two of the events, finish runner-up in one and make the semi-finals on the other five occasions.

Cambridge United Women return to action this weekend with the visit of Norwich City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round proper on Sunday (3 November). Like the U’s, the Canaries ply their trade in The FA Women's National League Division One South East and currently sit second in the standings. The two sides met in the second game of the campaign on 25 August which saw hosting Norwich score two unanswered goals to claim the three points.

Adam Webb has sold his minority 10 per cent stake in Cambridge United to current co-owners Paul Barry and Mark Green. Both Barry and Green have bought half of the stake, an additional five per cent of the club each, meaning that they now own 75.01 per cent and 24.99 per cent respectively.

Manager Danny Crow and his assistant Tom Marsden have departed Harleston Town. The news was announced following the Magpies’ 1-0 Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division defeat at home to leaders Fakenham Town on Saturday. The former Norwich City and Cambridge United striker was appointed as Harleston boss in May 2022 and guided them to third place in the Premier Division in his first season in the dugout – their highest ever finish.
