ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - An Anchorage federal judge granted prosecutors’ request to dismiss immigration violation charges against a Soldotna business owner currently detained by ICE in Washington state. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Francisco Rodriguez-Rincon, 47, remains in federal custody at ICE’s Northwest Facility in Tacoma, Washington.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The family of a 16-year-old Wasilla teen who fatally overdosed last year were in an Anchorage federal courtroom Tuesday, as the man prosecutors say supplied her with carfentanil pled not guilty to charges related to her death. Alena Toennis’ family said Tuesday’s hearing was a step in the right direction, as the suspect, Sean Mobley, 45, also faces separate state charges.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The man prosecutors say pulled the trigger in the brutal 2019 shooting death of 19-year-old Cynthia Hoffman was in a status hearing on Monday, to confirm with attorneys that his sentencing is still on track for August. Hoffman’s uncles, Donald and Mike Hoffman, were present in court and told Alaska’s News Source the family has waited long enough for 22-year-old Kayden McIntosh to be sentenced. “It just needs to be dealt with,” Donald Hoffman said.
