The Hearth Helper offered a way for Hearth Display users to text or email customer service to upload a list of events on their behalf, like bulk uploading a school calendar worth of events. When I bought tickets for Anime NYC, I worried that the chaos would be overwhelming for my daughters' first convention. I started my own con-going tradition a decade ago with New York Comic Con, and I've attended countless conventions since, but Anime NYC was my twin 15-year-old daughters' first time going to an event so massive. The Hearth Display is a family management tool that primarily functions as a shared digital calendar and to-do lists. It's a fancy tool—a 27-inch tablet that hangs on your wall—meant to replace your whiteboard calendar, chore charts, grocery lists, and to-do lists. I tested it for months, and it improved how I manage my family: My kids are learning how to manage a digital calendar, keep up with their virtual to-do list, and follow a morning and evening routine.
