A US Navy plane crashed into a Hawaiin bay after it overshot a runway in wet weather. The Coast Guard responded but all of the nine people aboard the P-8A aircraft were uninjured. It is not yet known what caused the plane to go off the runway at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Photos show the aircraft in water, just offshore.

Thousands of supports have donated money to Jonathan Clapham and Sam Franks, who were fired without notice for how they dealt with Ms Williams and Portuguese Olympic sprinter Ricardo Dos Santos in July 2020.

A London woman whose elderly parents are missing in Gaza has called for a medical corridor to be established to hostages being held in the territory. Sharone Lifschitz, 52, last heard from her mother, 85, and her father 83, on October 7, when they were taken from their home in the Nir Oz kibbutz. The couple both have complex medical needs, with her mother using an oxygen tank when she sleeps and her father taking medicine for lung disease.

Police are investigating after a man was filmed crossing London Overground tracks to persistently harass a woman. Footage posted on social media shows the man trespassing across the tracks at Bruce Grove, in Tottenham, while the woman says: “Can you leave me alone?”She can also be heard saying “excuse me, can you help me please”, without further response.

A restaurant which welcomes dog lovers and their best four-legged friends was left with thousands of pounds worth of damage, the owner said. Alicia Ung arrived at Pawsitive Café, in Notting Hill, on Sunday morning, to find the place so wrecked she thought there had been a break-in. She said she and her team found “broken glass, ripped sofas and extensive damage” everywhere. It was only when they discovered a “frightened little fox hiding at the back” that they realised what had happened.

Israeli authorities have released infographics, drone footage and voice recordings they say prove they did not attack a hospital in Gaza. A blast at al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on Tuesday has killed more than 500 people, the Gaza Health Ministry estimates, and harrowing imagery has shown this number includes multiple children. This was the deadliest single event of the current conflict so far.

A 35-year-old businessman with little experience in politics has been elected the youngest-ever president of Ecuador. Daniel Noboa won 52.1 per cent of the vote after South Americans went to the polls on Sunday, compared with opponent Luisa González’s 47.9 per cent. His political career only began in 2021, when he got a seat in the National Assembly and chaired its Economic Development Commission.
