(WXYZ) — Parents of L'anse Creuse Public Schools demanded transparency and accountability at a school board meeting Monday night after they learned that a student, recently charged with murder but long a suspect, was able to walk the school halls for months. The student, 16-year-old Ryan Sinegal, was initially taken into custody in June of 2024 for the murder of a 17-year-old but then released.

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit fire officials say that a gas leak on the first floor is the cause of an explosion at an apartment building on the city's wets side on Monday morning. The apartment in the 13900 block of Littlefield exploded around 4 a.m. Monday morning, injuring several people. Two adults are still in critical condition at Detroit Receiving Hospital and a 3-year-old girl is receiving ongoing burn care at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
