It's been back to school for the Crusaders this week as they open up to senior students at Shirley Boys' High in eastern Christchurch about resilience and relationships. Matatū midfielder Grace Brooker has made history with AFL women's side, Essendon — signing a one year deal as the club's first ever female rookie. The 25-year-old reveals she pursued the move herself, having always been interested in the sport. "My greatest goal is to be the best athlete I can possibly be and watching that sport — they are athletes. After months of speculation, 1News can reveal Christchurch has won the race to be New Zealand's second Supercars venue, with Ruapuna Park signing a multi-year agreement, beginning next year. It's understood Euromark Motorsport Park Ruapuna, near the international airport on the western fringe of the city, won the bid for its location, plus the accommodation and hospitality infrastructure in Christchurch. It also came down to funding.
