For the second game in a row, Anthony Edwards has crossed the 40-point mark. His latest 41-point performance marked his 14th career 40-point game, which sets a Timberwolves record. He passed his former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 13 40-point games with the Timberwolves. Edwards also recently passed Towns for most career threes made in Timberwolves history. This is his fourth 40-point game this season, tying his best from last season.

The road for the Minnesota Timberwolves to climb the standings in the West just got more difficult because forward Julius Randle will be out for at least two weeks. He joins Donte DiVincenzo; both players were acquired from the Knicks in the Karl-Anthony Towns trade. The team has been able to stay afloat and even string along a couple of wins. The Timberwolves now sit at 28-23 and are now a half game behind the sixth-seeded Clippers with plenty of games to go.

It’s been a very costly month for Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. The NBA fined the two-time All-Star $100,000 for using profane language during a live television interview. This was after the Timberwolves 113-112 victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday which Edwards made the go-ahead basket to win the game. Obviously, emotions run high and players get excited for winning a close game. It was at that moment where Edwards let some profanities slip.

So far in December, the Minnesota Timberwolves have done a great job establishing themselves on the defensive side of the ball. This is the Timberwolves defense fans were accustomed to last year. Despite coming off of three close losses to the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and Houston Rockets, it hasn’t been all bad in Minnesota. Their 8-9 record may not seem encouraging, but the Timberwolves have made a big step in the right direction. The Timberwolves typically don’t run a deep rotation which was concerning for the season. It seemed like the team didn’t have many options coming off the bench, but the last few games showed a certain player rising to the occasion.
