JCB’s next-generation backhoes have arrived, boasting fast travel speeds, a new outer box dipper option for the excavator end and a redesigned, operator-focused cab. JCB Product Manager James Gill gave Equipment World a closer look at the new 3CX Plus earlier this year at ARA Show. Take a tour in our video above. The 3CX Plus comes with a 109-horsepower 4.4-liter engine that puts out 381 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpms. It can hit travel speeds of 25 mph for quick roading between jobsites.

Colorado-based construction company Alquist 3D completed a 5,000-square-foot expansion to a Walmart in Huntsville, Alabama, in just seven days using five workers and two 3D concrete printing robots. The added commercial space features 16.5-foot-tall walls and will be used as a delivery warehouse for the retailer.

Liebherr’s largest dozer, the PR 776, can now be ordered with a factory-installed Trimble Ready kit, streamlining the installation of the Trimble Earthworks grade control platform. The new option reduces cost and complexity while increasing operator efficiency, Trimble says. The Trimble Earthworks-ready base kit includes mounting hardware, brackets and an integrated wiring harness. Liebherr introduced the PR 776 – the world’s largest dozer with a hydrostatic drive – in 2022.

Caterpillar announced April 15 that Chief Operating Officer Joe Creed will succeed Jim Umpleby as CEO of the world's largest construction equipment manufacturer. Umpleby, 67, a 45-year Caterpillar veteran, held the post as CEO and chairman of the board for eight years. He will move to the role of executive chairman effective May 1. Caterpillar’s next CEO, Joe Creed, 49, is also a company veteran, having spent 28 years at the company in numerous positions of increasing responsibility.
