I do what I can. In the ground-floor apartment I live in London, I have direct access from my kitchen to a shared yard that I have commandeered for the last nine years. On the 25th of April 2025, activists of the UK animal rights group Animal Justice Project (AJP) staged a publicity stunt in front of the UK Headquarters of the coffee chain Starbucks, demanding that they make plant-based milk their default milk. This happened amid backlash over Starbucks’ milk supplier, Arla. Arla was the subject of an undercover investigation that exposed how workers treated cows in one of the dairy farms in Yorkshire, where Starbucks gets cows’ milk.
