The chairperson of the Nunavut Impact Review Board is stepping down after 14 years as a board member. “Throughout my tenure with the board, I have had the privilege to listen extensively to proposals and interventions first-hand for major projects in Nunavut,” Marjorie Kaviq Kaluraq said Wednesday in a news release. “I will miss doing this work and it will always be an experience I cherish.”She said she resigned to accept a role as vice-president at Nunavut Arctic College.

Power has been restored to the entire city of Iqaluit after a spring blizzard left the city without power for more than six hours Thursday. Qulliq Energy Corp. posted on social media at about 1:30 p.m. that power had been restored to all parts of Iqaluit. As Qulliq crews worked to restore service throughout the morning, parts of the city saw the lights come on temporarily only to go dark soon afterward.
