The first time he was seen was at the end of the Mass on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Sick, on Sunday, April 6. La primera vez que se le vio fue al final de la misa en ocasión del Jubileo de los enfermos, el domingo 6 de abril: el Papa Francisco ingresó a la plaza, tras haberse confesado y atravesado la Puerta Santa. Se le notó con dificultad motriz (no podía alzar los brazos) y con las canulas nasales.

His “condition is stable, with the slight improvements we saw on Sunday in the motor and respiratory aspects and in his voice,» the note states. It is evident that the Pope uses high-flow oxygenation at night «only when necessary.» From the point of view of clinical examinations, his condition remains stable.

Se evidencia que el Papa usa la oxigenación de alto flujo por las noches “sólo cuando es necesario”.

Thousands of people gathered in Saint Peter’s Square for the Mass on Sunday morning, which was presided over by Monsignor Rino Fisichella who replaced the Pope as the presiding priest at Mass, given that the Pontiff has been prescribed two months of rest.
