The City Council Wednesday will vote on a proposal to boost the minimum wage for hotel and airport workers with the intent of reaching $30 an hour by 2028 in time for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Elected officials will consider a plan to raise the minimum wage for these workers to $22.50 an hour beginning in July, followed by a $2.50 increase over three years. The workers would earn $25 an hour in 2026, $27.50 an hour in 2027 and $30 an hour in 2028.
