The Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India (TECCI) opened Taiwan’s third mission in the country, in Mumbai on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Baushuan Ger said "Taiwan’s flagship New Southbound Policy to engage our 18 partner countries in Southeast Asia and South Asia, India is our priority. With our joint efforts, the bilateral trade between Taiwan and India increased from USD 5 billion in 2016 to USD 8.2 billion in 2023. India stands as Taiwan’s 16th largest trading partner.

Seven of us -- five adults and two kids - were on a family trip to the former member of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) that became independent following the Union's dissolution in 1991. It is now one of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Several functions were held here in the national capital on Friday to mark the one year of ethnic violence and suffering that happened in the Meitei majority Imphal Valley and the Kuki-Zo dominated hill districts of Manipur. A total of 230 deaths have so far been reported and 247 Meitei churches have been burned. The National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW)-organised function witnessed the release of a documentary on Manipur and a panel discussion.
