    GOTHENBURG — The YMCA at Gothenburg Health hosted its annual Color Run on Wednesday, April 16, bringing families together in a colorful celebration of Healthy Kids Day. This year’s event was organized by Sports Director Hunter Kiburz and Youth and Family Director Jon Gonzalez, who was helping with his first color run since joining the YMCA staff in Gothenburg. About 15 children had pre-registered, Gonzalez said, but a few more runners signed up in the final hour leading up to the event.

    GOTHENBURG — The genre-blending music group TAKE3 performed at the YMCA at Gothenburg Health and the Sun Theatre on Tuesday, April 15. The group is composed of New Orleans native Georgia Bourderionnet, Japan native Kyoka Minami and Houston native Lindsay Deutsch, who created TAKE3 six years ago. Hours before the TAKE3 performance at the Sun Theatre, the group gave a free preview performance for kindergarten through second-grade students at the Impact Center at the YMCA.

    LEXINGTON — Dawson County commissioners are still considering a health care proposal for jail inmates and county employees. During the April 4 commissioners meeting, Sheriff Mark Montgomery and Jail Administrator Shane Tilson presented the proposal. Both said the plan would provide telehealth services, on-site medical consultations and compressive medical tracking. Commissioners raised no concerns then but unanimously tabled the proposal while awaiting a detailed contract.

    LEXINGTON — A retirement reception for Becky Archer, Kelly Buck, Peg Fisher, Sandy Gnirk, Michele McKeone and Georgia Reeves is set for 4-6 p.m. May 15 at the Lexington Middle School cafeteria. At the end of Monday's school board meeting, Superintendent John Hakonson thanked all six women for their many years of dedication and service to the students at Lexington Public Schools.
