Federal authorities have opened a criminal investigation into allegations of mortgage fraud by New York’s attorney general, Letitia James, according to a new report. The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albany are leading the inquiry, according to the Albany Times Union. The investigation follows a federal criminal referral issued earlier this month by the Federal Housing Finance Agency director, William Pulte, to the Department of Justice.

Google stock plunged Wednesday after Apple’s senior vice president of services said the tech giant believes AI search engines will eventually replace standard search engines, according to a new report. Apple’s Eddy Cue, testifying in the Department of Justice’s lawsuit against Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc., said Apple is looking to add artificial intelligence services as search options in new versions of its Safari browser in the future, according to Bloomberg News.
