John Cena is still Undisputed WWE Champion after escaping Backlash with a victory over his longtime rival Randy Orton. At Saturday night’s PLE, Cena and Orton faced off one last time as part of Cena’s retirement tour. This final meeting had a different dynamic than all of their previous matches with Orton — the beloved babyface in his hometown of St. Louis — challenging Cena for gold. But a low blow and a belt shot secured the win for Cena to remain Undisputed WWE Champion.

WWE has set a date for Jey Uso and Logan Paul’s World Heavyweight Championship match. During the broadcast for Backlash tonight, it was confirmed that Uso will defend his World Heavyweight title against Paul on the next edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The episode is being held in Tampa, Florida on May 24 and will air live on NBC and Peacock. Dave Meltzer first reported that the Uso vs. Paul match was expected to take place on SNME.

Former NJPW wrestler Jeff Cobb has officially arrived in WWE — and he’ll be playing a part in the next chapter of The Bloodline’s story. Cobb made his WWE debut by helping Jacob Fatu retain the United States Championship at Backlash on Saturday night. Though Fatu got help from Solo Sikoa and Cobb, it did not appear that he wanted any assistance. The angle saw Fatu look confused at what was going on as the debuting Cobb obliterated LA Knight.

It’s not part of the card for Backlash this weekend, but Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul will still be happening soon. Dave Meltzer reported in the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, as of right now, Uso vs. Paul for the World Heavyweight Championship is planned for the next episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The show is taking place at the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida during Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 24).

Two NXT wrestlers clashed on WWE Speed today as a new number one contender’s tournament began. Kelani Jordan and Wren Sinclair made their Speed debuts by facing off against each other, and it was Jordan who advanced to the next round. With the three-minute time limit on Speed, both competitors wrestled with urgency. Jordan wiped out Sinclair with a moonsault to the outside within the first minute. As the match neared its end, Sinclair got a two count with a double underhook butterfly suplex.
