On 9th June 2024, Saulos Chilima arrived in Malawi from Korea where he attended the Korea-Africa Summit at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. Little did everyone know that this was the last aircraft, the Malawi Vice President would successfully alight from. Because events that happened 24 hours later and later on will linger in Malawi history, arguably, forever.

Bravehearts emerged champions of the Basketball Association of Malawi’s (BASMAL) National Basketball 2025 tournament, winning both the men’s and women’s categories. The tournament, sponsored by CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB), was held at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Sports Complex and Blantyre Youth Centre. CDHIB invested K44 million into the event, exceeding their initial commitment.

Zambia's former President Edgar Lungu has died at the age of 68, according to his party, the Patriotic Front . Lungu had been receiving specialized treatment in South Africa for an undisclosed illness. He led Zambia for six years, from 2015 to 2021, before losing the election to current President Hakainde Hichilema. Lungu's daughter, Tasila, confirmed his passing in a video statement, saying he died at a clinic in Pretoria.
