These are among the thousands of businesses across the state facing complaints of wage theft, a pernicious practice in which employers refuse to pay workers what they are owed. Every year, New York businesses cheat more than 2 million workers out of over $3.2 billion in wages, a third of which comes from those earning minimum wage.
