On November 6, many of us woke to the reality that our nation is even more corrupt and dangerous than we had realized as a majority of U.S. voters embraced and voted for a fascist, racist, convicted rapist and felon, compulsive liar, insurrectionist, and would be a dictator. During the election, the country was warned that a Trump election could signal the end of constitutional democracy here.

The Hibakusha (A-bomb witness/survivors) of Nihon Hidankyo have been among the world’s most courageous and steadfast advocates of nuclear disarmament. The organization has focused on three core demands: preventing nuclear war, eliminating nuclear weapons, and obtaining essential medical care for A-bomb victims.

In South Mumbai, BEST (electricity distribution company) has postponed the work of installing smart electricity meters. This company has 10.8 lakh residential and commercial consumers and it has already installed 3 lakh smart meters. All the houses and shops where these meters have been installed complain that they are getting double or triple electricity bills than before. The opposition of consumers is so strong that BEST has had to postpone this project of installing smart electricity meters.
