Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, making it to their field’s semifinals. The FIRST Championship is composed of the top 600 FIRST Robotics teams from around the world, along with the top teams in the other levels of FIRST in separate events.

    Organizers of Oxford Township’s Parks and Recreation Seymour Celebration recently released ticket and schedule info for this year’s event. The celebration, featuring rides, food, games and more will take place from June 5-8. The “Cruisin’ Down Seymour Classic Car and Vintage Bike Show” will take place on June 5 from 4-8 p.m. while the carnival opens at 5 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m.June 6, the carnival will open from 1-11 p.m. with fireworks at dusk.

    Park will have features for those with special needsBy Jim NewellManaging EditorOXFORD TWP. — A new pocket park is planned for the township along the Polly Ann Trail that will have features for both those with special needs and people without special needs. The Oxford Township Board of Trustees voted 6-0 on April 9 to accept the property deed from Koenig Materials, which owns part of the land on which the park will be built.

    Oxford High School senior Jake Champagne was selected to the boys basketball All-State First Team earlier this month, according to Oxford Athletics. Champagne is the first player in program history to be named to the team. He became the school’s all-time leading scorer during the 2024-25 season. Champagne tied Oxford’s all-time scoring record with his 1,120th career point during a 75-40 win over Anchor Bay on Dec. 6, and then broke the record two days later against Grosse Pointe North.
