Pearl River softball coach Courtney Labourdette knew the day would come eventually. It still didn't make it any less bittersweet. "I still love the game. I still love coaching, but all the other stuff just got to be too much with both sports," Labourdette said. "I'm going to miss the girls. I'm going to miss the game. It was just time. Pope John Paul II coach Brian Babin knows the challenge that his baseball team faces. The third-seeded Jaguars travel to second-seeded and defending state champion University in Baton Rouge for a Division III select semifinal series that starts today. "It's going to be a war, but if we go out there and pitch and play defense like we can, I like my offense to help us out and get us over the hump," Babin said.
