Officials are listed with their uniform number, years of NFL experience (including this season), the crew each official worked with in the regular season (by the referee’s name), college, and outside occupation. Five alternates are assigned to each game: a referee, an umpire, a line of scrimmage official (down judge or line judge), a deep wing official (field judge or side judge), and a back judge.

    WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The referee who collapsed during a high school basketball game at Heights High School on Dec. 17 has died, the school confirmed. John Thompson collapsed during a junior varsity game. Heights trainer Nathan Krause performed CPR on Thompson and revived him, but Thompson was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Krause said Thompson had surgery the following day and was “stable for a few days,” but remained in the hospital before dying on Dec. 26.
