    MUNCY, Pa. — State police in Lycoming County are looking for those who stole thousands from a coffee shop cash box this week. The burglary happened overnight Monday at Wagging Tail Coffee in Muncy Creek Township, state police at Montoursville said.  There, investigators said someone broke in and looted more than $2,500 from the shop’s cash box. Anyone with information was asked to call the Montoursville barracks at 570-368-5700.

    WOODWARD, Pa. — Firefighters in Lycoming County worked to extinguish a fire Thursday along the banks of the Susquehanna River. The fire at 87 Jane St. in Woodward Twp. broke out shortly after 9 a.m. and burned a cabin, authorities said. Township Fire Chief Rick Whalen said they did their best to try and save the building, but it likely is a total loss. Whalen suspects the fire started in the kitchen but a state police fire marshal is investigating.

    FRIEDENSBURG, Pa. — If you bought a crossword scratch-off game in Schuylkill County recently, you might want to double check that ticket. The Pennsylvania Lottery on Tuesday said a retailer near Schuylkill Haven sold a $1 million winning $1Million Moneybag Crossword Scratch-Off. The retailer, which will net a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, was identified as C&C Candies and Country Store, Inc., 1305 Long Run Road, Friedensburg. If you won, first take a deep breath.

    TROUT RUN, Pa. — Months after the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby struck Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, repairs are underway at a collapsed bridge in Lycoming County. Last summer’s storms caused flash flooding in Trout Run that destroyed homes and businesses. The deluge also wedged a truck, trees and several propane tanks underneath a bridge on state Route 14.

    TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. — A pilot made an unplanned landing Monday in Wyoming County. The Tunkhannock Township police said a glider made an unexpected stop during the afternoon on a playing field at the Tunkhannock School District. The glider was on its way to Wellsboro from Elmira, New York, and but had to land early. No one was hurt. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
