The team developed what they call a mixture of grouped experts (MoGE), a hybrid approach to overcome limitations in the mixture of experts (MoE) technique, adopted by DeepSeek to develop models using lower cost chips.

SoftBank Corp’s payment services subsidiary agreed to spend about $40 million to acquire a 13.8 per cent stake in Dublin-headquartered Nomupay, a provider of global standard payment products. Numopay CEO Peter Burridge (pictured, left) noted in a joint statement the investment will enable it to double down and support inter-regional commerce by adding additional countries and payment methods to its platform to support bi-directional access between Japan, Asia and the rest of the world.

Less than a year after Ericsson and Nokia took shares in Vodafone Idea to settle outstanding payments, both have offloaded their stakes, with The Economic Times reporting the Sweden-based vendor sold its interest for INR4.3 billion ($49.9 million). The debt-laden operator issued nearly 1.7 billion shares through a preferred allocation in June 2024, valued at about $294 million. Ericsson sold its 0.6 per cent stake through a bulk deal to undisclosed investors, The Economic Times stated.

SK Telecom (SKT), the largest mobile operator in South Korea by subscribers, registered a net loss of than half more than half a million users since it was hit by a cyberattack in April, data from the Korea Telecommunications Operations Association (KTOA) showed. SKT accounted for 47.2 per cent of the 933,509 customers changing operators in May, The Korean Herald reported, citing the KTOA figure. In April the figure rose to 691,000.
