Since their inception in 2022, the Glacier Range Riders have hired a new manager every offseason with the hiring of Todd Pratt in November making it four straight seasons under new leadership. But Pratt is far from new to the team. Before clubhouses were installed in the stadium and Glacier Bank Park became the ballpark it is today, Pratt had the opportunity to take the reins as manager the Riders’ inaugural season. The timing wasn’t right for him and his family. Now it is.

May 10—WHITEFISH — On a warm Friday evening, Columbia Falls head coach Chad Green was showered off with a water bucket as the team celebrated their 12-0 victory over their rival Whitefish in high school baseball at Smith Fields. "He's kind of a grumpy guy so we figured let's get him fired up a little bit with the water bucket," senior Reggie Sapa said. AA Lakers take 2 from Calgary

Solid pitching and defense guided the Kalispell AA Lakers to 9-1 victory in game one, and set up a sweep over the Calgary Cardinals at Griffin Field in an American Legion doubleheader on Friday. Jackson Heino took the mound for the opener, allowing just two hits and striking out four through five innings.

Apr. 5—COLUMBIA FALLS — On a frigid Friday night at Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Field it was Reggie Sapa's cool demeanor that allowed the Columbia Falls Wildcats to escape with a 9-8 win in a back-and-forth game against a gritty Whitefish Bulldogs team. Holding onto a 1-run lead, Sapa came in for relief and struck out five of the next six batters to close out the game, though it didn't come without some traffic on the bases.

Mar. 7—WHITEFISH — The game appeared to be heading into double overtime after Ronan's Kolby Finley hit a corner three to tie the game with 17 seconds left. Frenchtown quickly responded on a Hank Smith layup to win the game 64-62 in the Western A boys divisionals Thursday afternoon. Trailing 58-55 with 1:34 left in overtime, Frenchtown forced Ronan into three straight turnovers to take the lead before Finley tied the game.

Braeden and Paeten Gunlock led all scorers with 14 points each for the Valkyries, with Paeten scoring seven of those in that big second quarter. After taking a 15-8 lead after one, Bigfork extended their lead by cranking up the intensity on defense.
