RAYNE, La. — The Rayne Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding the two people wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday, Dec. 4. Police said Jamyrion Senegal, 18, from Crowley, and an unidentified 16-year-old are being sought in the shooting death of Darren Senegal, 20, of Rayne.

Chief Cedric Handy said the arrest was made on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The juvenile is charged with attempted second-degree murder (2 counts) and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. The shooting happened on Ninth Street in Franklin on November 15.

LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Fire Department has released the name and cause of death of the victim of a huge house fire on Evangeline Thruway that happened on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Fire officials identified the victim as Anthony Taylor, 28, who is originally from New Orleans but had lived in the Lafayette area for several years. The coroner's office indicated the cause of death was smoke inhalation.

MAMOU, La. — The manhunt for an accused shooter in Evangeline Parish ended in his capture on Wednesday, Nov. 29. According to the Mamou Police Department, Jamien Williams, 24, was tracked down in connection with the shooting of two teens. Williams was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on charges of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond is set at $200,000.
