This Dallas Mavericks season has been surprising and shocking for all the wrong reasons. Since the Luka Doncic trade on Feb. 1, the franchise has been in a tailspin with bad news on and off the court rocking the fan base like the world’s longest line of dominoes endlessly tumbling toward a black hole. So it goes without saying that the latest surprising and shocking development isn’t horrifying or upsetting. In fact, it’s downright pleasant: the Mavericks are still a functional basketball team.
