For Benton softball Head Coach Heidi Cox, the title of dynasty has arrived quickly after her team won its fifth state championship Thursday -- all since she arrived at the school roughly a decade ago and fourth in the past five years. Benton would take this year’s title 11-4 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

Led by Head Coach Heidi Cox, the Lady Panthers are a day away from playing in their fourth state title game in five years. BENTON -- The month of April has been a whirlwind for the Benton Panthers baseball team. Coming into Monday’s Senior Night matchup, the Panthers were 5-4 in April. Faced with a celebratory night, Benton would take care of business, winning 7-6 in extra innings to down White Hall. “We have been struggling all year on getting hits when we have runners in scoring position,” said Head Coach Mark Balisterri.

The third time really is the charm. Benton has claimed its rightful place among the greats in its third attempt at a boys' basketball state championship program history. Friday marked the third try at a title for a Benton team and the second straight for Head Coach Dexter Hendrix and company.
