    In late 2024, Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF or Qfly) was detected in suburbs near Fremantle, WA, putting Josh’s backyard into a high-risk ‘red zone’. This meant all potential host crops had to be removed. That includes: stonefruit, apples, pears, berries, tomatoes and capsicums, figs, passionfruit, grapes, mangoes, pomegranate, olives, dates, prickly pear, as well as most tropical fruits and even coffee and flowering plants such as clivia. Dhane Smith, who won Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday, was named to First Team All-NLL while Josh Byrne and Matt Vinc were named to Second Team All-NLL. Smith broke his own single-season assists record for the fourth consecutive season with 102, one more than his previous career best.
