Attorney Libby Nelson chose to go to law school because she wanted to help people. Her next step in achieving that goal is with Indiana Immigration Attorneys, a new law office that recently opened in Logansport. Indiana Immigration Attorneys will offer a full spectrum of services. Nelson said they already had asylum clients come through but they will also accept family-based cases such as issues surrounding marriage, employment and more.

A new piece of community art made its debut Friday morning during a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Logansport Cass County Chamber of Commerce and it’s a piece that comes with an important mission: deterring young people from drugs. The artwork, which features the late Heath Ledger’s iconic interpretation of The Joker from the Batman film “The Dark Knight,” was designed by Logansport High School student Mia Sanchez. She will be a sophomore when the 2025-26 school year begins in August.

“We lied to you,” Logansport Community School Corporation superintendent Michele Starkey gleefully said when Jeannie Adair walked into the board room, paused and looked with confusion at the colleagues, friends and family members assembled. And then her three grandchildren ran across the room and leapt into Adair’s arms. The reason for the surprise gathering was to recognize Adair as the winner of this year’s staff Crystal Berry Award.

Graduation season has arrived once more and the third one is going to be the most difficult yet for me. I’ve now spent three years getting to know many of this year’s graduates, cheering them on both within the classroom and in their endeavors outside of it. To recognize graduation last year, I shared my top 10 college tips. I actually wrote those in 2023 and stuck them in the first few graduation cards I gifted to local students.
