Following AFC Fylde’s final game of the National League season game against Barnet, fans and players came together to present various different accolades before closing the curtain on the 2024/25 campaign. Both the Men’s and Women’s first teams were in attendance, with Danny Murphy’s side receiving their awards.

It was defeat on the final day for AFC Fylde who fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to National League Champions Barnet on Monday. Two goals in the first 45 minutes followed by a third in the second half left Fylde with little to shout about on the final matchday at Mill Farm. Nick Haughton attempted to pressure the visitors backline early on with a smart cross from a quickly taken free kick, however it was intercepted in the air by Barnet’s Ryan Glover.

Following today’s game against Barnet, AFC Fylde Chairman David Haythornthwaite would like to give the following update to supporters ahead of the 2025/26 season,As the late Queen Elizabeth said in 1992 following a particularly harrowing year for her family, and the monarchy in general, it’s been ‘annus horribilis’. I think the same can be said about the season ending today.

AFC Fylde can confirm that David Longwell and Frankie McAvoy will leave the club following the final game of the 2024/25 campaign against Barnet. Longwell joined the club at a difficult time in the season and following the departure of Kevin Phillips at the end of February, took the reins until the end of the campaign along with Chris Neal, giving the upmost hard work, dedication and professionalism in attempt to keep the club in the National League.
