From bad weather on the north side to high bait prices, low catches in some areas and low prices across the board, many lobster fishers have had a difficult start to the season. The April 25 start for both the north and south sides was the earliest ever, and fishers are finding the water temperature a lot colder than the start of the 2024 season, which means the lobsters aren’t moving much and catches are lower for some.
