Federal candidates in Cardigan have reaffirmed their support for the Wood Islands ferry service in response to an open letter from the Rural Municipality of Belfast (RMB) calling for equal treatment of ferry and bridge tolls. The service is essential for eastern PEI and an “integral link” for a health and vibrant tourism industry, said the letter signed by RMB Mayor Garth Gillis.

Matthew Antle started running a little over a year ago as a way to challenge himself and continue to be active. Since then, the 23-year-old from Bear River has exceeded all expectations, winning two races and finishing in the top 15 in the PEI Marathon, which was his first-ever race in that distance. Antle was recently recognized for his success, with the PEI Roadrunners Club naming him rookie of the year for 2024.
