(May 12, 2025 / JNS)Jewish activists managed to smuggle a live goat onto the Temple Mount in Jerusalem using a supermarket bag on Monday. The Israel Police confirmed that officers from the Jerusalem District arrested nine suspects in the Old City for allegedly assaulting police officers and attempting to disturb the public order. One of the detainees was found to be concealing a live animal in a bag.

We have a lot of common interest, a lot of common values and a lot of common challenges.

(May 11, 2025 / JNS)Magda Baratz, a 96-year-old Holocaust survivor, died on Friday, 15 days after her great-grandson Master Sgt. (res.) Asaf Cafri was killed in action in the Gaza Strip. Cafri, 26, a tank driver in the 14th Armored Brigade’s 79th Battalion, was fatally shot by a Hamas sniper on April 24 while conducting operations in the Beit Hanoun area of northeastern Gaza. Three other Israeli soldiers were wounded in the attack. Double heartbreak.

(May 11, 2025 / JNS)Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Sunday morning that the remains of Staff Sgt. Tzvi Feldman, missing since the 1982 Battle of Sultan Yacoub during the First Lebanon War, have been returned to Israel in a joint operation conducted by the Mossad and the Israel Defense Forces. “For decades, Tzvika was missing, and efforts to locate him and other missing soldiers from that battle never ceased,” said Netanyahu.

(May 8, 2025 / JNS)Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a targeted strike on Thursday afternoon in the Beaufort Ridge area of southeastern Lebanon’s Nabatieh District, hitting a site used by Hezbollah to manage its fire and air defense systems. The attack neutralized multiple terrorists, weapons, and underground shafts, the military said. The facility was part of a significant subterranean Hezbollah project that, due to repeated IDF strikes, has now been rendered inoperable.
