A year later, those same dreams remain, but with a hardened lesson learned for a group of players focused on slugging their way to a championship in 2025. The Indians went 14-5 in 2024, taking the Section 1-5A title and earning the No. 2 seed in the WPIAL Class 5A playoffs.

The high school basketball postseason has been completed with the playing of the PIAA Championships this past weekend in Hershey. Now, we turn our attention to the individuals who excelled on the hardwood this season with the Super 7 Player of the Year Awards. KDKA Radio's staff has nominated three finalists from each WPIAL boys and girls classification, as well as the Pittsburgh City League. Winners will be honored at the KDKA Radio Super 7 Basketball Awards Show later this month.

The WPIAL Championships are in the books and attention now turns to a handful of district teams battle for PIAA gold. Last week saw a handful of fantastic basketball games at the Petersen Events Center, led by dominant individual displays. This season, KDKA Radio will again nominate players each week to join the KDKA Radio Super 7 Awards watch list. Every Monday, a new crop of players will be unveiled based on their efforts that previous week.
