I would like to reiterate that I personally bought this unit in March, 2023. I did not contact Thrustmaster about this part. Thrustmaster did not have an editorial say in this review. I received no compensation from Thrustmaster. Buying your own units for review may not always be sustainable due to the prices of parts. What it does allow is much more flexibility in meeting timelines and conducting tests for far longer than most companies will tolerate.

Display outputs include 3 x Display Port 2.1a and a single HDMI 2.1b. These should be able to drive any monitor on the market up to 8K resolutions. It is also a PCI-E 5.0 native device which should allow a theoretical bandwidth from CPU to GPU of around 128 GB/s. The official board power of this card is a relatively mundane 220 watts (as compared to 575 watts on the RTX 5090).

The past several weeks have seen new CPU and GPU launches from multiple vendors, but this is expected after a rather busy CES this year. AMD is part of that with a handful of new CPUs and APUs, but the one area they have seemingly saved until last is their final RX 7000 series GPU release. Well, we think it is the last. There are no new RX7x00 series of chips that have not been released.

I must admit that I was previously unaware of Loupedeck the company until they contacted me about reviewing one of their parts. This is not entirely surprising as I am not heavy into the Twitch/Game Streaming world. Sure, I may have done a little basic streaming of my own in years back, but I never went full in with a streaming setup that included a stream deck.

It has been a while since we last saw our friends from XFX. Some time back I did a review of the XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT BLACK (YouTube link), and I came away quite impressed. It was one of the largest cards (at the time) that I had ever worked with. It was quiet, ran cool considering the GPU and power draw, and it was quite visually striking. Perhaps most importantly it has been in constant use in the primary test machine at home for these past 3 years without a single issue.

ASICs are great and all for pretty focused tasks, but as ML/AI workloads evolve the needs of the software will change. A more focused ASIC could very well become a hindrance as the industry progresses.

Remember when the Information kept saying ASICs were finally going to be a big risk to GPUs?
