Wrapping up our coverage from this year's Unbound Gravel race event, let's take a look at three more unreleased bikes - two from Factor Bikes and another from Orbea's OOLab. While brands often use premier races to tease upcoming products, it's more often wheels or drivetrain components than full-on new bikes. But that wasn't the case at this year's Unbound.

The 2025 Unbound Gravel XL brought 359 miles of brutal Kansas terrain, a night of chasing headlights across the prairie, and two course records as Rob Britton and Heather Jackson rode to victory in Emporia. Britton outlasted Lachlan Morton in a fierce overnight duel to win the men's race in 17 hours, 49 minutes, and 51 seconds - the fastest time ever recorded on the XL course.

As discussed in a special edition podcast with EF Pro Cycling athlete Lachlan Morton last month, he has decided not to defend his Unbound 200 title. Instead, Morton will race the 350-mile Unbound XL, which begins at 3:00 pm US Central Time on Friday, May 30. Morton is known for his extensive experimentation with bike and gear setups, yet in recent years, he seems to have settled on some common themes. Particularly with his endurance rigs.

After months upon months of reporting unfortunate bike industry news, there have been a few bright spots. Most recently, the team at Abra-Cadabra Fabrications revived the legacy Waterford and Gunnar brands. Today, it's Adam Miller acquiring Revel Bikes back from Next Sparc Growth Partners, which is the private equity firm he sold to in 2021. Miller started Revel in 2019. With just two bikes models and team of six friends in a small warehouse, the brand was small and scrappy in the beginning.

Yang MFG, DirtySixer, Trek, Zinn CyclesBuzz is building around 32" mountain bike wheels and tires. You read that right. While 32" wheels and tires have existed for years in the unicycle market, and have been used in custom bike applications for tall riders, the debut of a dedicated 32" XC mountain bike tire from Maxxis at March's Taipei Cycle Show likely signals that something is coming soon from major mountain bike brands.

Taylor Chase, Dan Hughes, Gruber Images, John KasaianLachlan Morton hardly needs an introduction these days. His unconventional approach to professional cycling transcends the typical confines of the sport and it's constantly evolving. Just last October, Morton spent a month (30 days, nine hours and 59 minutes to be exact) on a record-setting lap around the circumference of his home country Australia to raise over $100k (AUS) for charity.
