An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ede, on Monday, ordered the remand of suspended Loogun of Edeland, Jimoh Abdulkabir, in correctional facility for allegedly defaming one Adam Akindere. Abdulkabir who was slammed with a four-count charge bordering on defamation, cyberbullying, threat to harm and falsely posting and circulating defamatory statements on social media against the person of Akindere, however, pleaded not guilty.

Human rights activists and students on Thursday took to the street in large numbers in Osogbo, Osun State, to protest bad governance as part of events marking the annual Democracy Day in Nigeria. The activists also used the opportunity to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the annulment of the June 12 presidential election won by Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.

Adeleke, who expressed profound sadness on the demise of Olori Abolarin, described the deceased as a virtuous woman and a pillar of support to the monarch in the challenging task of administering the affairs of his subjects.
