    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A driver was placed under arrest Tuesday afternoon following a pursuit that ended just north of Delano. On June 3, an alleged pepper spraying suspect led law enforcement on a chase through at least three cities. The suspect, a woman driving a white Hyundai Elantra, was traveling northbound on Highway 99 at speeds up to 110 miles per hour, according to Bakersfield police.

Salty’s BBQ & Catering plans to move into a new location on Coffee Road, near Downing Avenue, in the first quarter of 2026, according to the owner. Construction on the new building is slated to begin in July. The new location will be nearby the Raising Canes on Coffee Road. The restaurant will have indoor dining, a covered patio with heating and cooling, and a drive-thru.

Jason Garibay, 30, was arrested under suspicion of murder, torture and cruelty to a dependent adult likely causing great bodily injury or death, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. At about 5:13 a.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Williams Street and located a dead person inside an apartment.
