During its meeting on Tuesday, June 24, the Isle of Palms City Council unanimously approved an ordinance amending the zoning code to address growing erosion concerns near Breach Inlet. The ordinance prohibits the construction of swimming pools seaward of the maximum building line within the P-2 Preservation Overlay District, requiring all new pools in the district to be built landward.

The rooftop bar she runs, Bar Moxy, isn’t just another polished lounge with cocktails and a view. “There aren’t many rooftops in Charleston,” she said, sitting in the bar’s podcast studio. “We’re not Citrus Club. We’re more bohemian. We’ve got shuffleboard, pingpong and drag bingo. It’s laid-back.” Conway’s path into bar management wasn’t planned, but it came naturally.
