Starting with the pointed “your,” this was cheeky of him, considering that our President Nixon had vacated the White House on August 9, 1974. That was only two days — two days! — before Bowie recorded the vocal track for what would become the title tune of his 1975 album, Young Americans, at Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound studios.
