The UK Biobank is a large-scale, population-based prospective study designed to comprehensively investigate the genetic and non-genetic determinants of disease in middle-aged and older individuals. Its objective is to combine broad and precise exposure assessments with detailed tracking and characterization of numerous health-related outcomes, aiming to contribute to the development of innovative scientific knowledge by optimizing resource utilization.

1. IntroductionCodonopsis pilosula is a widely recognized plant with medicinal and edible properties, containing various bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, polyphenols, flavonoids, sterols, alkaloids, and amino acids, and has demonstrated immunomodulatory, antioxidant, lipid-lowering activities, etc. [1,2]. Among these components, the polysaccharide compounds are particularly noteworthy [3].

AbstractThe prevailing opinion emphasizes fronto-parietal network (FPN) is key in mediating general fluid intelligence (gF). Meanwhile, recent studies show that human MT complex (hMT+), located at the occipito-temporal border and involved in 3D perception processing, also plays a key role in gF. However, the underlying mechanism is not clear, yet. To investigate this issue, our study targets visuo-spatial intelligence, which is considered to have high loading on gF.
